NVRI SYMPOSIUM ON VISUAL PROCESSING

The National Vision Research Institute hosted a one-day symposium on visual processing on September 4, 2009. Through generous financial support from the Victorian College of Optometry two excellent international retina researchers presented their latest results to us:

  • Dr Benjamin Reese
    University of California, Santa Barbara

Determinants of dopaminergic amacrine cell spacing, differentiation and number
  • Dr Austin Roorda
    University of California, Berkeley

Adaptive optics tools for testing the limits of vision near the fovea

In addition to these excellent lectures we heard sixteen brief oral presentations from early-career researchers, which highlighted the diversity and excellence of visual neuroscience in Australia.

Ulrike Grünert, Paul Martin, and David Vaney.
